High Speed Cylinders As opposed to low speed cylinders, high speed cylinders have long been known. Designers are familiar with high-speed characteristics in aerodynamic technology. The question is how fast can the high speed cylinder go? Generally, the cylinder speed described in the technical standards of the cylinder is 1m/s, and the rodless cylinder is 3m/s.

If you want to know about low-speed cylinders, here is the recommended reading: "What is a low-speed cylinder?" Analysis of the structural principle of low-speed cylinder》

FESTO has specially studied the high-speed characteristics of the cylinder, and the technical data obtained so far is 17m/s. This experimental research work was carried out using modified DGP25 and DGP32 rodless cylinders (see Figure 3).

The control valve adopts a center-discharge three-position five-way valve MN1H-5/3E-3C. The speed of the cylinder is adjusted by two GRU3/8 muffler throttle valves installed at the exhaust port of the three-position five-way valve. The speed can be between 17 ~24m/s. In terms of connection, the air inlet direction of the air port should be consistent with the movement trajectory of the piston. All connecting pipes are made of PU13 hoses, and the pipes should be shortened as much as possible to achieve a buffering effect.

It should be added that this
