How the magnetic cylinder works

Small magnetic switch cylinder is a type of magnetic switch cylinder. It has a small and beautiful appearance and superior performance. Its working principle is as follows:

The small cylinder with magnetic switch installs the magnetic switch on the outside of the cylinder barrel of the cylinder. The cylinder can be used with various modelsCylinder, but the cylinder tube must be made of materials with weak magnetic permeability and strong magnetic isolation, such as duralumin, stainless steel, brass, etc. A permanent magnet magnetic ring is installed on the non-magnetic piston. When the magnetic ring moves with the piston and approaches the switch, the two reeds of the reed switch are magnetized and attract each other, and the contacts close;

When the magnetic ring moves away from the switch, the reed loses magnetism and the contacts are disconnected. When the output point is closed or disconnected, an electrical signal is sent out to control the corresponding solenoid valve to complete the switching action. As shown below. The magnetic switch usually has an indicator light for switching action and an overvoltage protection circuit inside, which are sealed in a shell with resin.

The difference between magnetic cylinders and ordinary cylinders

The difference between the two is that some pistons in magnetic cylinders have magnetic rings, while ordinary cylinders do not have magnetic rings. For cylinders with a magnetic ring, a magnetic induction switch or magnetic induction sensor can be installed outside the cylinder to detect the position of the cylinder piston, and then perform some other control schemes.

Some of the pistons in the cylinder are equipped withmagnetic rings, and some are not equipped with magnetic rings. This is based on need. For a cylinder with a magnetic ring, a magnetic switch can be installed outside the cylinder. When the cylinder operates, at a certain position, an electrical signal can be fed back to the PLC for control through magnetic induction (because the installation position of the magnetic switch can be changed, it can be freely control the stroke of the cylinder).

How to distinguish between magnetic and non-magnetic cylinders

1. If the cylinder barrel is made of steel pipe, the cylinder will definitely not be magnetic, because everyone knows that iron will demagnetize and demagnetize after long-term contact with magnets. , so if it is a cylinder made of steel pipe, do not considerThe cylinder will have a magnetic ring.

2. Find an iron object such as a paper clip or a pin and test it near the cylinder piston. If it is adsorbed to the cylinder wall, then the cylinder has a magnetic ring. Otherwise, there will be no magnetic ring.
