What is the function of the manifold?

Its function is to achieve centralized air supply and exhaust, and save space.

There are at least two channels that pass through each other in the manifold. The distance between the inlet ends of each two channels is greater than the distance between the outlet ends. There is a section at the outlet end of the channel that changes direction. Exit pipe, manifold, connecting holes and pin holes are evenly distributed parallel to the outlet pipe.

In the design and use of complete sets of automation equipment, the air source (such as air compressor) is often relatively single, and there are many solenoid valves working at the same time. This requires a single air source. The source is dispersed to multiple solenoid valves, and the manifold can achieve such a function.

The air in the air inlet is supplied by the air source. After distribution by the manifold, the air coming out of the air outlet is connected to the air outlet through pneumatic hoses, pneumatic joints and other accessories. On the components that require air in the complete set of equipment (such as pneumatic solenoid valves), this realizes the function of supplying multiple pneumatic components with a small amount of air source at the same time.

Solenoid valves are divided into three types: pipe-connected type, plate-connected type and series-connected type. The manifold is a component that must be configured for the plate-connected solenoid valve. The solenoid valves are centrally installed on the manifold, and each solenoid valve controls the air outlet in a unified way. The purpose of using a plate-connected valve group is to facilitate centralized installation, centralized management, integrated valve island, etc.

What is the function of the manifold plate ? Manifold processing technology

Manifold plate processing technology

1. Surface treatment: Common ones include anodizing, spray painting, baking paint, etc. Among them, oxidation treatment is the best. Anodized aluminum plate is to place the aluminum plate in the corresponding electrolyte (such as sulfuric acid, chromic acid, oxalic acid, etc.) as an anode, and perform electrolysis under specific conditions and external current. The aluminum plate of the anode is oxidized, and a thin layer of aluminum oxide is formed on the surface. Its thickness is 5-20 microns, and the hard anodized film can reach 60-200 microns. The anodized manifold increases the melting point of the anodized film to 2320K, has excellent insulation, and has a breakdown voltage of up to 2000V. It has enhanced corrosion resistance and will not corrode in ω=0.03NaC1 salt spray for thousands of hours.

2. Drilling and tapping: Drilling and tapping are the most important quality processes related to a manifold. Currently, most domestic factories use manual processing. The driller taps, but problems such as crooked holes will inevitably occur by hand. It is best to use CNC processing to ensure that the hole position is correct and smooth, so as to be able to match the Solenoid valve is well engaged to ensure service life and safety.
