How to determine the installation form of the cylinder: Determine the installation form of the cylinder according to the direction of load movement.

Load movement direction

Installation form

Precautions

The load moves in a straight line during operation

Base type

Flange type

Fix the cylinder body so that the direction of movement of the load and the direction of movement of the piston are on the same axis or parallel.

Shaft pin type

earring type

If the stroke is too long, or the direction of movement of the load and the direction of movement of the piston are not parallel and not in the same direction, use a pin type or earring type installation form.

However, care must be taken not to impose lateral loads on the piston rod and bearings.

The load swings in the same plane during action

Shaft pin type

earring type

Make the swing direction of the lugs or pins supporting the cylinder consistent with the swing direction of the load. In addition, the swing direction of the metal parts at the front end of the piston rod must also be the same.

When there is a lateral load on the bearing, the lateral load should be within 1/20 of the cylinder output force.

Various installation forms of cylinders:

The axis of the piston rod should be consistent with the direction of load movement (coaxial):

If they are inconsistent, the piston rod and cylinder barrel of the cylinder will produce strange tension, and the inner surface of the cylinder barrel, the surfaces of the guide sleeve and piston rod, and the seals will easily wear. The correct installation method is shown in the figure below:

To prevent the direct connection of the piston rod from being affected by vertical gravity: -Add roller support rails

There will be friction between the piston rod and the cylinder barrel. The piston rod of the cylinder is easy to bend, and the inner surface of the cylinder barrel, the surfaces of the guide sleeve and piston rod, and the seals are easy to wear.

To avoid torque forces on the piston rod: - Guide rods should be added

The piston rod and cylinder barrel will produce friction, the inner surface of the cylinder barrel and the piston rod are easy to bend, and the surfaces of the guide sleeve and piston rod, as well as the seals, are easy to wear.

To prevent the rear movable joint from being too far away from the output point, which will cause the piston rod to be torqued - use an intermediate movable support instead to shorten the excessive distance between the support point and the output point.

An intermediate guide support should be installed on the long-stroke cylinder to prevent the piston rod from sagging naturally to overcome the damage caused by the sagging of the piston rod, the downward bending of the cylinder barrel, and the vibration and external load on the piston rod.

Deflection is prone to occur during long strokes, so the mounting bracket can be moved to the front end cover.

It is best not to connect a fixed cylinder to a rocker arm that performs circular motion (LB fixed). At this time, it should be connected with the swing cylinder (CA\CB\TC fixed).

If the height (H) from the mounting surface of the bearing bracket to the bearing position is too high, during operation of the cylinder, the mounting part of the bracket will generate a large torque force, which may cause damage to the mounting bolts, etc.
