SMC thin cylinder structural features





SMC thin cylinder belongs to a large category of SMC cylinders and is one of the flagship products of SMC pneumatic components. It is a cylindrical metal part that guides the piston to perform linear reciprocating motion. Its working principle is to convert most of the thermal energy into mechanical energy through expansion in the engine cylinder. The following will introduce you to the structure of the SMC thin cylinder in detail. .


1. Cylinder barrel: The inner diameter size of the cylinder barrel represents the output force of the cylinder. The piston needs to make smooth reciprocating motion in the cylinder barrel. The surface roughness of the inner surface of the cylinder barrel should not exceed Ra0.8um, otherwise the efficiency and effectiveness will be affected.
2. End cover: The end cover of the cylinder is equipped with intake and exhaust ports, and some also have different buffer devices in the end cover. The rod side end cover is equipped with a sealing ring and a dust ring to prevent air leakage from the piston rod to the outside and prevent external dust from mixing into the cylinder body.
3. Piston: The piston is a pressure-bearing part in the SMC thin cylinder. In order to prevent the left and right chambers of the piston from causing air blow-by, a piston sealing ring is provided during the design.
4. Piston rod: The piston rod is the most important force-bearing component in the SMC thin cylinder. It is usually made of one of the high-carbon steel raw materials (to ensure a relatively high frequency of use and service life of the product). The surface is hard chromium plated. Or use stainless steel to prevent corrosion and improve the wear resistance of the seal.
5. Seal ring: The seal of the parts that rotate or reciprocate is called a dynamic seal. For the same reason, the seal of the stationary part is called a static seal.
