The cylinder air pipe joint is a very small component. Do you have the correct method to select the joint that suits you among dozens of categories? Today we will share the relevant basic knowledge with you for your reference.

Definition of cylinder air pipe joint:
First, let’s understand what the cylinder air pipe joint is. Pipe joints are components that connect pipes. It is required that the connection is firm, airtight, quick and easy to assemble and disassemble, and has low flow resistance.

Classification of cylinder air pipe joints:

Five-way joints, straight-through high-speed rotary joints, hexagonal joints, speed-regulating joints, threaded straight-through joints, and ferrule-type joints.

Precautions for installing cylinder air pipe joints:
The quick connector only needs to insert the connecting pipe to the bottom for a secure connection. When pulling out the tube, first push the release sleeve evenly inward with your hands to open the spring chuck, and the tube can be pulled out.
The rotary quick joint uses oil-impregnated sliding bearings, ball bearings and special-shaped sealing rings, so it can realize high-speed rotation of the body around the joint seat.
When assembling a quick connector (also called a connector) with a one-way valve, insert the plug into the socket with a built-in one-way valve. When you hear a "click" sound, it indicates that it has been fully inserted, and then rotate the locking ring to the two marks in the direction of the arrow. Go up until you see the orange mark. There are no springs in the KK series flow path, so the flow resistance is small, and it can be used for general industrial water. After the two series are connected, they can flow in both directions.

Precautions for piping installation of cylinder air pipe joint:
1. Before installing the piping, the dust, oil, cutting dust and other impurities in the pipes and pipe joints should be fully blown away. Confirm the model and size, and confirm that there are no scratches, cracks, etc. on the product.
2. When the piping is threaded, you can use pipe joints coated with sealing film, or wrap 1.5 to 3 turns of sealing tape in the thread tightening direction, but the pipe end should be left open for 1.5 to 2 pitches. During assembly, prevent thread chips and sealing material fragments from being mixed into the pipe. Wrap the sealing tape around, firstly, for sealing, secondly, to prevent iron filings from entering the pipe, and thirdly, to prevent thread bonding (especially soft metals such as aluminum).
3. When cutting the pipe, make sure the cut is vertical and not deformed, and there are no scars on the outside of the pipe.
4. When using non-metallic pipes other than those of our company, pay attention to the accuracy of the outer diameter. Nylon tube is less than ±0.1mm, polyurethane tube is in the range of -0.2~+0.15mm.
5. When the pipe joint is screwed to the pneumatic component, a suitable wrench should be used to clamp the joint body and screw it in. The tightening torque should not be too large to prevent damage to the threads or deformation of the sealing gasket and air leakage. After tightening the M5 connector by hand, use a tool to tighten it 1/6 turn more. After the micro connector is screwed in by hand, use a tool to tighten it 14 additional turns.
6. When the piping rotates with the equipment, pay attention to the piping direction to prevent the cylinder piping from becoming loose.
7. When using a straight-in pipe joint, you must ensure that the pipe is inserted all the way.
8. If copper ions are not allowed to exist in the environment, nickel-plated pipe joints can be used.
9. The metal pipe should not exceed the required length to reduce pressure loss, increase the effective cross-sectional area, and reduce air consumption.
10. Non-metallic pipes should meet the minimum length requirements to prevent the pipes from twisting and deforming during equipment operation. Spiral tubes can be used as connecting tubes on movable parts.
